<binary> Up, Up, and Away I will go! I can’t believe the big week is here and I’m just 2 days away from returning to my second home, New York City. My excitement for my trip actually inspired this week’s Tech This Out feature. I’ve been blessed to be a super traveler this past year so this this’s week feature is one I can’t wait to get my hands on. In honor of travel tech, I’d like to introduce you to the perfect luggage: Away.

My great friend, The Creative Gentleman, actually introduced me to Away a few months back after discovering that the brand was created by Warby Parker Alums, Jen Rubio and Stephanie Korey; because his love for Warby Parker runs so deep, he insisted that whatever product these two made would be as good as gold. He was as right as ever.

Away prides itself on creating special luggage that is designed to be resilient, resourceful, and essential to the way people travel today. The brand was inspired by true (travel) stories; They asked thousands of people how they pack, why they travel, and what bugs them most about their luggage. “The design is very user driven,” Stephanie says. “It’s not a feature list; it’s for the way people really travel.” “Looking at the way luggage is often designed today, there are a lot of legacy details that don’t make sense anymore and a lot of things that are lacking because of how security and technology have influenced the travel experience,” Jen says.

They designed a bag that solved old problems (like sticky wheels) and a few new ones, like dead phones. Yes, you read that right. The Carry-On Away bag has a removable interior 10,000 mAh battery and two USB ports that allow multiple devices to charge at once. No more freaking out over that CSI:Cyber episode about hacked airport charging ports or sitting on the airport floor waiting for a quick charge. The built-in battery can charge any USB device, so you’ll always be able to check your favorite youtube video—or Snapchat story.

The exterior is made of 100% Bayer Makrolon polycarbonate, a material unrivaled in strength and impact resistance. PLOT TWIST: It’s not heavy, the entire bag weighs in at only 7.2 lbs. The bag also includes sturdy wheels that rotate have 360 degrees. It also has a patent-pending compression system and YKK zippers—the highest quality zippers in the market— to ensure the luggage stays closed. So if we get carried away and pack that back up pair of heels (in case the flats magically look like they won’t match), we will still be good. So no more taping up your overstuffed carry-on. They got you, girl! Inside the bag is a removable, washable laundry bag to keep dirty clothes separate from clean, so all our goods can stay fresh to death!

Lastly and most importantly, Away’s Carry-On is designed to comply with most major airlines’ regulations at 21.7″ H 13.7″ W x 9″ so we can strut through TSA with no stress on whether we have to check our bag at the gate. Away also has two sizes of checked luggage, The Medium and The Large. These bags are unfortunately not tech equipped, for obvious reasons but they look as sleek and clean as their baby, The Carry-On. You order the Away carry-on for $225 at Your purchase comes with a 100 Day Trial + Lifetime Warranty, so once again, they’ve got you, girl! I’m in love with the bold and subtle colors of their Morocco collection and be sure to tag them in your travel photos when you go up and away and you could be featured. Until next time, I hope you enjoyed being able to tech this out. </beauty>
